چکیده

Context. Microscopic presolar grains extracted from primitive meteorites have extremely anomalous isotopic compositions revealing the stellar origin of these grains. Multiple elements in single presolar grains can be analysed with sensitive mass spectrometers, providing precise sets of isotopic compositions to be matched by theoretical models of stellar evolution and nucleosynthesis. Aims. The composition of presolar spinel grain OC2 is different from that of all other presolar spinel grains. In particular, large excesses of the heavy Mg isotopes are present and thus an origin from an intermediate-mass (IM) asymptotic giant branch (AGB) star was previously proposed for this grain. We discuss the O, Mg, Al, Cr and Fe isotopic compositions of presolar spinel grain OC2 and compare them to theoretical

Oxygen, magnesium and chromium isotopic ratios of presolar spinel grains

Oxygen isotopic measurements of 20 spinel (MgAl2O4) grains from the CM2 meteorite Murray (average diameter 0.45 m), seven spinel grains from ordinary chondrites (OC, 0.3 to 2 m) and three spinel grains from the CI chondrite Orgueil (0.4 to 0.7 m) have revealed large anomalies and thus established their presolar origin. Their O isotopic ratios fall into all four previously defined groups and ind...

Circumstellar Hibonite and Corundum and Nucleosynthesis in Asymptotic Giant Branch Stars

We report the discovery of two hibonite grains (CaAl12O19) whose isotopic compositions show that they formed in the winds of red giant and asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars. While hibonite is the second major phase (after corundum, Al2O3) expected to condense from stellar ejecta with , it has not previously been found. C/O ! 1 One circumstellar hibonite grain is highly enriched in O and sligh...

Water content and wind acceleration in the envelope around the oxygen-rich AGB star IK Tauri as seen by Herschel/HIFI ***

During their asymptotic giant branch evolution, low-mass stars lose a significant fraction of their mass through an intense wind, enriching the interstellar medium with products of nucleosynthesis. We observed the nearby oxygen-rich asymptotic giant branch star IK Tau using the highresolution HIFI spectrometer onboard Herschel. We report on the first detection of H 2 O and the rarer isotopologu...

Grain size influence on the thermal properties of stabilized zirconia-nano spinel (Al2O3-MgO) composites

Abstract. Cubic crystalline oxides such as Y2O3 and MgO is used to stabalized zirconia phases at high temperature. In this paper the Y2O3 powder was added to stabilized zirconia and preparing a mixture of MgAl2O4 Spinel by mixing 1mol of nano-MgO with 1 mol of nano-Al2O3 powders. The spinel was added to the Y2O3-ZrO2 by various weight percentage (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 wt%), and after that the sp...
